Apple Pie Bacon (Now available in Slabs)

Could there be anything more American than Apple Pie Bacon?  We think not. But at first, it sounds a bit odd, like which is it a pie or bacon.  Make up your mind.  Well, we did and we shrank down the pies into little flavor particles and cured this bacon in the essence of apple pie. Sounds a bit like a Willy Wonka trick.  Don't worry, you won't blow up to be a big purple blueberry like Violet Beauregarde.

Surprisingly we had never tasted anything like this before stumbling across a youtube video of a guy in the midwest who came up with a variation on this recipe.  Thanks, youtube guy!  We, of course, took it up a notch and turned it up to 11 (see This Is Spinal Tap), and wow, what flavor!

Apple Pie Bacon became one of our family favorites.  We recommend eating this on national holidays especially July 4th.  If you are creative you can make a pretty convincing American flag out of bacon strips, blueberries, and powdered sugar.  But watch out, these colors may not run, but they get eaten pretty fast.
